Lead Veterinary Technician trusts and recommends ShutOut® internal teat sealant

Christine Sinclair has a busy role as the lead Veterinary Technician at Totally Vets Limited (TVL) in Feilding, and when she’s not doing this, she’s helping her husband out with running their 410-cow dairy farm.

Autumn and winter are busy times for her team administering thousands of tubes of dry cow treatments, including teat sealants, every season. It’s important that the dry cow products they use work well and are easy to administer.

In 2023, TVL offered farmers ShutOut, a new internal teat sealant (ITS) as a more costeffective alternative for their clients.

Christine found ShutOut really easy to use and said: “The fact it has no air bubble made infusing easier, and the dual tip was good for the newer or less experienced people, preventing teat canal damage through over insertion of the syringe tip into the canal”. Feedback from farmers has also been positive “All the farmers that I have talked to are happy with the results and with the retention of ShutOut”.

Christine says “ I’d definitely recommend that farmers use Shutout. From my experience, it’s the same quality of product as our previous teat sealant and with the results I’ve heard, I would not hesitate to recommend ShutOut to others”.
